I found it very interesting to see everyone's different approach to their design pieces, I'm looking forward to seeing more! :)

this ongoing project is an excellent opportunity to challenge ourselves and address specific design issues that may have been weaknesses in the past. it will be interesting to see how systematic approaches might evolve and if students will use this project to its full potential.

will we limit our weekly solutions to explorations of single elements of design?
type?
image?
composition?
color?
texture?
material?
genre?
etc?

will we attack the project every week as a comprehensive UNIT of all design elements?

will it all come together beautifully in the end?

I have to say that I am really enjoying the concept of an "ongoing project." It gives us all the chance to try again and progress; I think that's something I've been needing. It relieves the pressure I place on myself to get it right-right now, and allows me to explore risky ideas that just might not work out. But if I feel a little disappointed in my stuff when I see it pinned up next to everyone's attention grabbing creations, it's incentive to push myself harder next week. Feels like real motivation. The possibilities are endless. How many people are pumped knowing we could letterpress a poster for next week? I know I am.

I love this project, because every week I am stumped and have no real ideas at the beginning of the week, but by the time friday comes around, I have something to put up and for the most part I am happy with what I have. Weather this feeling will continue is still up in the air, but I never realized how many meanings one word has, and I havent even scratched the surface....
